Daughter of John Battensby and Mary Clark

From "Bend of the River" page 340.
Frances Battensby Dance, the third president of the West Weber Ward Relief Society was born May 23, 1833 in Shincliffe, Durham, England. She was the daughter of John and Mary Clark Battensby.
She was married to William Dance in 1856, and they were parents of the following children: William B., Sarah Jane, Phillip B., Polly, and Henry.
Frances was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on April 16, 1870. Her husband William died in 1872. Her daughter, Polly, died in England. She sold her property in England and with her daughter, Sarah Jane, and sons, Phillip and Henry, left England in July of 1874, on the steamship "Wyoming" to come to Utah. They purchased a farm and settled in West Weber on September 2, 1874. Her son, William, whom she had left in England to take care of some unfinished business, died there.
She was married to John Isaac Hart in polygamy and had two children: Isaac and Puah Sarah Hart (this daughter was the second Puah Sarah Hart born to John, the first died in infancy and her mother was John's second wife of the same name). Frances divorced him a few years later and discontinued using the name Hart.
Soon after the Logan Temple was dedicated, Frances began doing temple work for her dead relatives and friends that she had known in England.
Sister Dance was a member of the Weber Stake Sunday School Board. She also worked in Primary. She was serving as secretary of the Relief Society when called to become president and was appointed president January 12, 1889. She was diligent in performing her labors, and walked many a mile to see that some lonely old person had food, warmth, and clothes to wear.
Frances B. Dance served faithfully as president for 20 years and was released February 4, 1909. One month later she passed away at her home in West Weber.
