Birth source: S261Page: Hannah Hardy was born in Sydney in 1848. As a small child she went to the the goldfields in Victoria with her parents and other members of the family, a long and slow journey in a bullock waggon. After the death of her father on the Lamplough goldfields, she returned to Singleton, NSW, in 1862 with her mother and brothers, probably by sea. Hannah was then 14 years of age. It appears that she continued living in Singleton until she was 27 years of age, when she married James Reid at Newcastle on 10/11/1874. Hannah and James lived at Greta, and Hannah died there on 23/12/1927, and is interred in the Greta Methodist Cemetery. It is said she was a gentle and lady-like person. James Reid was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and came to NSW in 1864. He married Hannah when he was 41 years of age. He was born in 1832, and died on 14/10/1907 at Greta.

Hannah and James lived at Greta, and Hannah died there on 23 December 1927 and is interred in the Greta Methodist Cemtery. It is sad she was a gentle and lady-like person.
